Therapy Dogs

.

Katrina was brought to the Lycoming County SPCA by a kind hearted Good Samaritan. It seems Katrina had a litter of puppies that were not wanted by her former owner. The owner tried to give the pups away to patrons of a bar. When he was turned down he turned Katrina loose in the parking lot and just put the pups into peoples' cars. Katrina being a good mother, jumped and scratched on these cars trying to get to her pups. She was stoned for this and had to run away and thus was brought to the SPCA. Katrina is a wonderful therapy dog visiting nursing homes, participating in "Puppy Pals" programs where children read to the dogs and many other functions. She seems to know who needs just what kind of attention and works a group of people all by herself.
