MISSION STATEMENT

Eagles' Wings Service Dogs mission is to increase the independence and improve the quality of life for individuals with various physical limitations by providing homeless animals of the Lycoming County S.P.C.A.  who are trained for service.

We believe that by training selected shelter dogs to assist individuals both the dog and the individual benefit by gaining greater independence, and becoming contributing members of the community.

Each dog is trained to meet the needs of individual recipients. Our goal is to initiate a lifelong bond and partnership between the individual and service dog, and to offer professional training and monitoring for the team on an on-going basis.  This goal limits our range to approximately 200 miles surrounding Williamsport, PA.

"They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint".

Isaiah 40 v. 31.

Eagles' Wings Service Dogs will assist individuals with picking up objects, carrying objects for their partner and balance activities and could be trained to assist individuals with specific needs such as turning light switches on and off, elevator buttons and retrieving a portable phone. The dogs not only assist with physical activities but also give confidence and companionship to their human partners permitting the individuals to enter into community activities with a sense of independence.
